Certain businesses, which are generally operated as sole traders or partnerships, are subject to third party scrutiny.

In the case of the first four businesses’ reports by a registered auditor or other suitably qualified body are required on an annual basis reporting on the financial position of the business and in particular any clients’ money held.

In the case of doctors the medical association produces statistics that allow the doctor to compare his practice to national practices provided his accounts are prepared in the standard format.
